the Local Barber & Tap

"Hot Shaves, Cold Beer."

The Local Barber and Tap is a walk-in only barber shop specializing in men’s haircuts, shaves and beard maintenance, offering a rotating selection of local drafts, cans and bottles located at the back of the shop.

The owner, Jordan, wanted to incorporate elements from both his barber services and tap room.  Since he offers shaves with straight razors, we started working on a minimal design of a razor with hops and wheat in the center as the cutout seen on common razors.  Designs were applied to stickers, t-shirts, hats and other merchandise.

Artists Perish wanted to create t-shirts with local Asheville artwork.  The girl represents the artist as she appears to be either drowning or emerging from water, which represents the creative process.

She approached me with a story about spending quality time with her father watching old western movies.  From this childhood memory stemmed a love for the old west.  She was inspired by her father’s hard work and dedication, and focuses on bringing that same dedication to her coffee.

Party Envy

Event Planning & Floral Design

Party Envy offers event planning and floral design, focusing on wedding coordinating.  Michelle was looking for a simple, clean logo with hand painted watercolor elements.  We sat and spoke about some of her and her mother’s favorite flowers and plants.

I wanted to create a logo that would highlight the specialty wedding services and floral design without looking cluttered or complicated.  The flowers resting on top of the circles resembles an engagement ring.
